We bring no-strings-attached giveaways to anyone who wants to win through a network of generous sponsors. Sponsoring a giveaway on Prizemojo is a simpler, gimmick-free way to get a product or brand to potential fans.

Giveaways should be simple

For participants there should be no required likes, no surveys, no spam, no sales manipulation and no personal information selling and no stalking you across the web. Just fun ways to win free stuff.

For sponsors, running a giveaway should be effective but without dubious advertising fees, no brand dilution and no promotional gimmicks. Just a straight forward path to direct engagement with the people who are actually interested in your product or brand.

So... let's do fun, affective and never annoying

We have created a "giveaway game" that allows participants to pass on giveaways they don't want, save up for the giveaways they really do want, and enjoy the best odds around. The game is also great for sponsors as it ensures that the prize, and consolation discount prizes, only go to folks who care the most.

This all started a long time ago...

Prizemojo was developed by Wimpy Analytics LLC, the super serious company that has been bringing fun from the Internet to your doorstep for many years.

Before Prizemojo, we at Wimpy built what we now refer to as a "Giveaway Game". We called it Coppergoose--a play on the old "Golden Goose" or "Goose that laid the golden egg" tales. Of course, our goose wasn't gold because she wasn't producing the most expensive gift every time, but rather she would produce the right gifts for our winners.

We worked toward this by way of a Karma system in which users could store and spend chances on each giveaway. This allowed users to have better odds in the giveaways they cared most about.

Back to now

The Coppergoose model was re-invented as Prizemojo, which not only allows anyone to win a giveaway but also to sponsor their own.

"Prizemoji", our friendly octopus mascot is hard at work bringing sponsors and their products up from the deep oceans of the web in order to put them on display in the form of a giveaway. Prizemoji and our generous sponsors believe, as we do, that honest giveaways can be a great way to get something for nothing while still having a lot of fun.

@Jaidonkaia The case where the winner receives the prize but doesn't tell anyone about it is the "~45 days" thing I was talking about. The short of it is that if it has been a really long time and the winner still hasn't told us whether or not they got the prize we simply assume that they did and that everything went well. So when that happens the sponsor's rating would be unaffected and they would get 100% of their Karma award but not until after waiting a long time. I completely agree that it is very helpful to get these questions in the open as to help others as much as possible.

Okay @JollyEddie , one more question. What would you do in the case where (though impossible to verify), if a Winner receives a prize but does not Claim it here? Thanks for taking all the time to answer! And I feel that having answers to questions like these made public here will help clear up some confusion later on.

@Jaidonkaia Ah, I see, thanks for clarifying. After claiming the prize the Winner is periodically sent email reminders asking them for prize feedback, which when entered, finalizes the Karma reward for the sponsor. In the worst case If we never hear anything from the winner after ~45 days after claiming the prize the award is finalized for 100% of the Karma but we want to avoid that as much as possible because, lame. The reminders were pretty crude early on but have improved a lot since. For instance it is now possible (as the sponsor) to enter an estimated arrival date of the shipped prize which allows us to send more accurate feedback reminders sooner.

Unfortunately @JollyEddie , while that question is still valid and j was curious, it isn't what I was asking. What I meant was... Is there anything in place to ensure the winner says they got their prize? Or does it lie only within the hands of the winner? What stops people from claiming a prize (on time) but not verifying their winnings on prize mojo, and giving the supplier their points? I'm not too sure if j worded this quote right this time either...

@Jaidonkaia Sorry, we missed this question somehow. The answer is yes! Though the responsibility ultimately lies with the sponsor prizemojo has tools to encourage proper prize delivery. All winner feedback results in an overall sponsor rating and, in the event of problems, a winner may (optionally) penalize a portion or all of the sponsor's awarded karma. Beyond that, all giveaways are bound by US sweepstakes law. Which varies from state to state but generally require the prize, or something of equivalent value, to be delivered within 30 days. <-- Not legal advice :)

Is there a way to enforce or verify that people receive their gifts, out of curiosity, or is it just an honor system?
